Two special programs are  available for this exhibition.
(1) [Stay] Special Stay Program with Pottery-Making Experience by Yuki Nara (July 22 - 23)
(2) [Day Trip] Special Program: The Works of Yuki Nara Meet Zenbo Seinei (July 23)

In the summer of 2023, Yuki Nara's works will be displayed in a special exhibition at Zenbo Seinei on Awaji Island.
The Zen retreat facility's second floor features an impressive 100-meter wooden deck designed by Pritzker Prize winner Shigeru Ban, which offers panoramic views of Awaji Island's beautiful nature.
Visitors to Zenbo Seinei will be able to enjoy Nara's new works displayed in this special space.

In this exhibition, in addition to Nara's masterpiece "Bone Flower" and new work "Bone Flower_Nest", his latest work "Synapse", will also be unveiled. This piece was inspired by the mystical nature of Awaji Island.

Yuki Nara Yuki Nara

Born in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture in 1989, Nara graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2013 with a BA in Architecture. He graduated at the top of his class from his course at Tajimi City Pottery Design and Technical Center in 2016, and also from his master's program at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2017. He has been president of the architectural design firm EARTHEN since 2021.

In the field of ceramics, he has been invited to exhibit at Art Basel / Design Miami (Switzerland), TEFAF (Netherlands), and SOFA (USA).

Major awards include the 3rd Triennale of Kogei in Kanazawa Jury Special Prize, Pen Creator Award 2021, and the 79th Kanazawa World Craft City Declaration Memorial Prize.

建築と陶芸の融合を目指した代表作<Bone Flower>は金沢21世紀美術館に史上最年少で永久収蔵されている。建築分野では主な作品として<五行茶室>(2018/金沢21世紀美術館、台南市美術館)<Node>（2023/企業新社屋）、 <Cave>（2023/リノベーション）。 2021年には若手建築家の登竜門<Under 35 Architects exhibition 2021>のファイナリスト7組に選出される。

1. [Stay] Special Stay Program with Pottery-Making Experience by Yuki Nara (Saturday, July 22 - Sunday, July 23 )

Saturday, July 22 - Sunday, July 23. This is a unique overnight stay program where you will have the opportunity to experience making ceramics with Yuki Nara. Nara will lead a pottery making class on the Zen deck, where you will create your own pottery, which will be fired and sent to you later. We also invite you to experience the Zen Wellness offered by Zenbo Seinei, which includes a ZEN experience surrounded by Nara's artwork and morning and evening meals prepared in Zenbo's original style. Please join us for two special days of Zen meditation retreat and Nara's artwork.

Admission fee (tax included)｜11,000 yen per person. Limited to junior high school students and older. Each session runs for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
*Session 3 (13:00) is a special program in which actress Mihoko Shibata will recite from the Kojiki with music by taiko player Shuichiro Ueda and koto player Kumiko Otoshi. It will last for 1 hour and 50 minutes. The program is limited to junior high school students and older.

Yuki Nara's artwork will be on display at Zenbo Seinei until August 6.
During this period, the works will be available to viewing by all guests participating in our regular day trip programs or overnight stays.
