Mindfulness Retreat for Careful Living in the Universe that is Me
We look mindfully at our place in nature, how and what we breathe in (consume)
and breathe out (pay off), and deeply examine the phenomenon of our existence within the cycle of nature.
Mindfulness
What is mindfulness? We are constantly, unconsciously expanding our awareness in every direction,
and we automatically pour our life energy into this process. Mindfulness is a way to gather and unite
this scattered life energy by focusing on the present moment.
Meditation and Breathing
Zenbo Seinei provides an environment that allows you to come into harmony with and respond to nature.
We want you to meditate not only by observing your own breathing, but also by feeling the dynamic cycle
of the countless breaths of nature around you, a cycle you too are part of. Therefore, we will take part
not only in sitting meditation together, but also wind (breathing) exercises that open up the airways and allow you
to feel your breath pass through your whole body.
As we transition from the age of collectivism to the age of the individual,
knowing yourself well will become increasingly important.
By awakening the strength, the wealth of abilities, and intelligence within yourself
and learning how to choose a way of life that makes you happy and comfortable,
you will naturally become someone who gives.
Simply by living for yourself, you will give to those around you.

Instructor
Daru Maiko
Nomiyama is a female Buddhist scholar
who has lived in Thailand for 17 years.
She ran NAMO Chiang Mai, a yoga studio and
massage school in Chiang Mai for 12 years from 2006 to 2018.
Originally passionate about yoga, she studied traditional Hatha Yoga
and Ayurveda with a focus on Sankha philosophy. After ten years of
exploring yoga, she became interested in Buddhism as a means to
explore philosophical questions that she still could not answer for
herself. She returned to university to study for her master's degree
at the IBSC (International Buddhist Studies College),
Mahachulalongkorn University.
While still pursuing her study of Buddhist philosophy,
Nomiyama continues to teach Buddhism-centric meditation
